Hey guys, check it out -- I've been asked to a residency gig every Thursday in July at The Shore in Hermosa Beach!  I'll be playing from 8 - 10 pm every Thursday with percussionist Will Tompkins as well as special guests every week!  So come on and check it out, details are on the calendar.

This is pretty awesome -- I was asked to audition for a new TV pilot called American Coffeehouse. It's an 'American Idol" style reality show that showcases original singer-songwriters.  I took Will down to play percussion with me and we killed it!!  They loved us and we were selected for the pilot episode!  The show is currently getting pitched to ABC and FOX. I'll let you know when it makes it to the airwaves!!!

Veteran producer/editor Tonya Stumphauzer and director Stephen Readmond recently spent a day with Jared in the studio and asked him to give a little insight behind some of the songs on his new record.

Jared talks about the making of the new album and the songwriting process, giving a unique glimpse into the stories and passion behind his songs.

CD Release Party, April 9th @ Saint Rocke in Hermosa Beach

It was standing-room only for Jared Young's album release party at Saint Rocke, one of L.A.’s hottest new music venues. Young's new album, Several Shots At Redemption, was released April 9th and his fans showed up in force for the debut at the Hermosa Beach club. "It was an amazing night," Young said, "and it was very special for me to celebrate with my hometown crowd."

Young opened the show with "It's Alright, It's Over", the first track on his new record, and he kept the high-energy crowd on their feet for the entire 90 minute set. Young had previously released a few sneak-peek songs from the new album on his website, so many of his fans were singing along to songs like "People R Strange", "Good Things, Bad People", and "Summer Rain". Young also played songs from his 2006 record So Many Miles, including the contagious "Dizzy and Unreliable" and "In This Day and Age".

One fan, Billy Mazzie, remarked about the show, “The show was great. Jared’s music can be summed up in one word -- infectious!”
